A few years ago, I embarked on a career in financial services. When I say that I didn’t know anything, I’m not kidding. While I consider myself to be extremely knowledgeable in business, (I’ve worked for some of the biggest corporations in the US) I knew I needed the equivalent of a doctorate level of education to be able to adeptly handle peoples’ and business’s money. By positioning myself into networks of highly talented, experienced professionals, I learned both what NOT to do and what most people have never been told. That’s a bold statement, but I stand by it. A very wise man who has earned his place at the Million Dollar Round Table, (an elite level of expertise in the industry coupled with a tremendous volume of activity) said to me there are more than seventy-two thousand words in the IRS tax codes. Under his tutelage, he used the analogy that if you need to go to a cardiovascular surgeon for your heart, you will never opt for a neurosurgeon to advise you about your procedure. Thus, I was taken into a network of professionals who have extensively studied the ways to protect peoples’ money, and this is what I chose to write about and share with you today.
One thing I have learned of late is that most average folks with whom I have had transparent discussion have not been given the tools to truly protect themselves from spiraling economies, inflation, effective mitigation of taxation, and the basic understanding of how money works. In addition, I have found that the majority of people have never even been asked the question: what do you plan to do once you’ve achieved the level of financial freedom that you desire? In my experience, the planners of the world love to share the solution, but they really don’t look at the problem. It’s not their fault; it’s simply the design of the industry to be product driven. That’s what makes money for the planners. What if those same planners could still put food on their tables, but also had tools that would exponentially increase the results for their clients?
Let me break it down into a glimpse of what you should know about money and how to protect it. First, you need a Living Trust, along with a Power of Attorney (POA) for both financial as well as medical. There is nothing more devastating than the children having to go through the agony of end-of-life scenarios that are not definitively designed on behalf of the parents’ wishes. I don’t want my children to go through determining when and if to pull the plug. That is all predetermined in my Trust and POA now.
Second, you need to know that you have three “buckets” of money to address. The first is for your family, the second is for charity, and the last is for Uncle Sam. What most people don’t know is that you can have complete control over how much you want to go into each bucket. Let me reiterate: YOU have complete control when you are working with a professional who knows exactly how to set up your portfolio. There are tools available and laws that can be taken advantage of that can help grow and extend the life of your trust and legacy beyond your imagination that you probably have never been told.
Queue my commercial. If I told you that my team of subject matter experts and attorneys could reduce your tax liability by 50% or more, would it be worth a 30-minute conversation to you?
